Try a yoga class, which combines deep breathing, meditation and postural exercises or massage, or chill out on the sofa with a relaxation CD. Soaking in a warm bath can also ease muscle tension and help your body relax.

If you’re stressed-out, try to tackle the source of your anxiety and seek help. If you don’t talk through your feelings you can end up becoming anxious and depressed. Talk to your boss if work pressures are overwhelming and try and work out a solution, whether it’s working part time or to more realistic deadlines. If it’s your relationship with your partner that’s stressing you out then tell them how you feel in a calm moment and consider relationship counselling. If you have other issues such as low self esteem you may benefit from cognitive behavioural therapy, a solution-based talking therapy which can help you think in a more positive way.
